Last week, The CW’s Charm The reboot ended its four-season journey with a major nod to the original series. In a move that surprised viewers, the new Charm She seals off her path by seeing the powerful trio of witches – Mel (Melone Diaz), Maggie (Sarah Jeffrey) and Michaela (Lucy Barrett) – navigate through a portal that takes them to Halliwell Manor, home of the original series ‘Charmed’. The move established a sort of magical multiverse, and the showrunners noted that, had the series moved forward for another season, they would have figured things out more but not everyone was happy with the ending. The series finale reignited the long-running feud between OG Charm and reboot.
Following the conclusion of the reboot series “The End is Never the End,” original series writer Curtis Khel took to social media to criticize the reboot, calling the new wizards “crooks” and having some very specific ideas about how the original trio handled things.

While Khel’s comments are the latest in the controversy, they certainly aren’t the first. Pretty much since Charm The reboot was announced as there was backlash from those involved with the original. Rose McGowan, who played Paige Matthews in the original series, described the reboot as “making money to take advantage of Charm The name “previously and even Holly Marie Combs who played Piper Halliwell was criticized – though she later called for an end to the feud and made it clear that the real issues were ‘company-wide’ before advising the reboot stars to ‘stay together’ in their negotiations.”
Kahil’s comments also received a direct response from the writers of the reboot series.
“Unlike the OG version of the franchise, we had a strict ‘no assholes’ hiring policy in the writer’s room,” their tweet read. “We feel sorry for these people, because unlike them, we actually like each other and had the best time. Onwards…”

Unfortunately, while Charm The reboot is over, it doesn’t look like the feud will stop anytime soon. Many fans resented the nod to the original series during the finale, and as for Khel, he continued to post about his issues with the show.
